"We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."  Aristotle
"Life is, in a way, a never-ending attack on our personal position of strength.  If the challenges of life get the upper hand, we are in trouble.  Understanding your habits is a key component to stay on top and in control."
Pieter de Villiers (Functional developer of the Shadowmatch System)

What is Shadowmatch?

Shadowmatch is an online optimization system that measures behavioral patterns, also referred to as habits.

  • A habit is an action that repeats itself with no or minimal conscientious planning.

  • Habits are very predictable.

  • Any behavior can become a habit.

An individual (14 years and older) will complete an online worksheet, consisting of 70 questions. While completing the worksheet, the system will observe and map the behavioral patterns of the person and generate the Shadowmatch results. The system generates an easy to read graph to provide the user with an outline of the behavioral patterns of the individual. It is important to remember that the results will not present good or bad scores. It also does not classify people into boxes.

A Personal Portal is created for every individual who completes the Shadowmatch worksheet. This portal offers the individual various functionalities.  They can view and read all the reports, update personal information, request Relationship Reports and embark on a journey of self-development.

What kind of relationship reports can be requested?

The Shadowmatch system has the capability to help people manage their relationships. This is done by means of the Relationship Reports.  By comparing the habits of two people in a relationship, we can learn what might frustrate us, which areas we can use to develop the relationship and which habits will present a challenge in the relationship. These reports are very comprehensive and offer practical advice. The Shadowmatch  system offers eight types of Relationship Reports:

  • work

  • friendship

  • family

  • love

  • marriage

  • parent-child

  • teacher-student

  • co-habitation (living together)

How does Shadowmatch compare to personality tests?

It is important to remember that Shadowmatch is not a test, an assessment or a questionnaire. You cannot fail, pass, or do good or bad. You are not declared competent or incompetent.  Shadowmatch fits into the category of in-basket simulations and role-plays.

Shadowmatch is a sophisticated, online, worksheet that presents the individual with an end-to-end task, and while the individual engages with the task, in the backend the system maps and observes their behavior. Where the system sees that certain behaviors show patterns, the system then shows on the results how strongly this pattern is present and is it a habit or not.

Shadowmatch does not measure what you feel or what you think - the system measures what you do.

Personality and psychometric tests aim to inform about the individual.  Shadowmatch measures habits that do not just inform, they have a predictive element. Shadowmatch enables the user to predict an individual's behavior based on existing behavior patterns or habits.

How does an individual obtain access to a Shadowmatch worksheet?

What are the Shadowmatch habits?

The Shadowmatch system measures 19 habits:

  • Propensity to Own: This refers to the habit of taking ownership of a task.

  • Propensity to Handoff: This refers to the habit of handing off a task to someone else to complete.

  • Simplify: Does the individual have the habit of taking a complex scenario and breaking it down into smaller challenges before they embark on resolving the challenge or solving the problem?

  • Resilience: The habit of trying again and again, not giving up.

  • Propensity to Change:  Measures the individual's habit of dealing and working with change in a positive way.

Shadowmatch - journey of self-development.

People can learn new habits. Experience based learning is the best way to help an individual learn those behaviors that are necessary for success.

Shadowmatch has 20 different Personal Development Programs to help people improve their success.  These programs are mentorship programs and they can either be done by face-to-face mentors or professional virtual mentors who are dedicated to guide an individual through the learning and development phases.

All Shadowmatch PDP's are interactive and outcome- based.  These PDP's require an individual to actively engage with the development program in order to successfully grow in the behavioral focus area of the PDP.

An individual can choose any of the 20 development programs for either business, sport or an academic environment.
